Following is a selection of landscape photographs from the southwest rendered as color monotypes. The imagery is generally from the desert or the roads that take you there. The sense of isolation is made more acute by the shimmering and fractured recognition as though heat were melting your perception and the light darkening as you drop to one knee, thinking idly about your shoes being uncomfortable and why didn't you remember to fill up with gas before heading out here. Well, no matter, someone will come along in a little while. Surely...
